I’m so excited to finally share the images from our winter bloom academy and flower school, just in time to launch our Spring Bloom Academy! Our second flower workshop held here in our studio and just before the christmas and holiday season, was a festive and pretty day! We even had some alumni students who also attended our fall class. Participants came as far as Ottawa to learn more about the art of flower designing but also for some friendship and fun! Every student went home with two wintery arrangements they made, including a hand tied piece as well as a boxed arrangements. Special thankyou to our freinds at Mango Studios for capturing this special day. To be in the know about our next Bloom Academy and be on our insiders list click here.
Juliana and Anthonys’ wild flower wedding at Braestone is giving us all those summer vibes. If you’ve been following along, you know I love the country side, and so I was over the moon excited when Juliana and Anthony chose Braestone Farms to host their special day. Up-country romance was the call of the day so I was definitely in my happy place designing for this beautiful wedding.
I love their love story! Persistence pays off they say and it did for Anthony. Juliana explains.. “We met a couple years before we started dating and during that time Anthony always made a point to reach out just to make sure I still remembered him. Final after several asks, he took me out.” After six years, a proposal followed. Anthony managed to have a store at Yorkdale Mall completely closed down for the special occasion! The wedding planning would begin and wedding planner Michelle from Sincerely Yours Events, was eager to get the ball rolling!
We had so much fun designing with Michelle and were so excited for the wild flower theme. Juliana’s vision included a stunning loosely designed and ‘like it grew there’ ceremony arch. The modern farm house style barn at Braestone was detailed with rustic wood table and modern wishbone chairs. Wild flowers lined the guest table and were detailed with mixed hurricane candle holders.
Thank you so much Anthony and Juliana for trusting us with your special day!
Can we just bask in the warm golden sunlight and the fragrance of country side fields for a little while longer? Who doesn’t love a beautiful wedding on a beautiful farm estate? Let me take you to Braestone for the most beautiful home style wedding, located in the rolling hills near Horseshoe Valley. When wedding planner, the talented Shealyn from Shealyn Angus Events, reached out to us to create a beautiful floral and decor concept at Braestone, we were thrilled, because up-country style weddings are certainly our forte’! The perfect blend of the rustic and the refined. “The initial concept for the shoot was a lush, familiar, colour saturated response to a micro wedding celebration on a private estate property.”, says Shealyn. “With the background of the newly opened Braestone Farm as inspiration, it was clear that the shoot could take on a modern or more high fashion interpretation with the contrasting black exterior and white washed interior. Having that juxtaposition of dark and light also allowed us to play on mood and tone, creating a full range of experience from the first shot to the last. At the end of the day, we wanted it to feel like a welcomed, homey, authentically designed experience to serve as inspiration for the new world of small-but-mighty weddings we’ve come to get to know this season.” Captured by the talented Will Reid Photography, this creative assignment gives us all the right vibes.
